April Recap

April was full of spring activities: Easter, yard work, preparing our garden, picking flowers, cleaning out the compost bin, lots of walks, and hours spent outside.

This spring has been refreshing to my soul as I continue to feel the anguish of financial strain.

I don’t feel like getting into it too much in this debt update. I’ve written about it a little bit in previous months. There is this emotional conflict between despair and praise constantly going on in my mind. I will feel on the edge of hopelessness just when a glimpse of God’s provision shines through. He has given me strength and shown me His faithfulness in this journey. I trust He loves me and is taking care of me.

So far this year, we have paid off over $8,000 of debt. This is great, but most of it came from our tax refund. My goal is to pay off at least $15,000 this year, which means we need to pay off about $800-900 a month for the remaining eight months of this year. To be completely honest, I don’t think that’s doable because we are living paycheck to paycheck. But I will stay consistent, and if we happen to get any extra money, I want to throw it at our debt in hopes we reach out goal.

Even though money is tight, we have been able to pay for all of our needs and maintain afloat! Slow progress is still progress!
